Chief minister Aditya Nath Yogi on Sunday said cow protection was among his top priorities and his government would work to promote dairy and animal husbandry sectors.
Talking to the media persons here, Yogi said the economy of Uttar Pradesh was based on agriculture and majority of the people earned their livelihood through farming.
“Cows are also required in religious rituals of the Hindus. Cowsheds will be promoted in all the districts. The central government is also promoting cowsheds in UP and other states. Reiterated that there would be no discrimination on the basis of caste and community, the CM said: “I will continue to work for the development of UP. I need the assistance of the people to run the government and ensure that the benefits of welfare schemes reach the beneficiaries. Though I am a CM, I will work as a common man.”
