Starting out as a supporting actor, Ajith Kumar rose to the top, charting his own success graph. His on-screen rival, Vijay might have more hits that Ajith, but in terms of mass appeal, the charismatic Ajith stands toe to toe with the best in the business. There are many who believe that he is Superstar Rajinkanth’s heir apparent.

Rajnikanth, whose simplicity and humility is something that everyone who has worked with him has vouched for. Ajith is not too far behind there. At an age where most kids meander along, nodding to every little thing their parents and friends feed them, a 15-year-old decided to drop out of school and become a mechanic. For a kid from an upper middle class background, this is unheard of, but Ajith never belonged to a heard.
